Patricia Ancona, Kay Russell and Helen Stanley: Paintings and Drawings

An exhibit of paintings and drawings by Marin artists Patricia Ancona, Kay Russell and Helen Stanley opens Friday, January 22nd with a reception from 5:30 to 7:30pm. These three San Rafael artists approach their work in very personal, yet universal ways. For Patricia Ancona, symbolism plays an important role in her highly realistic, yet surreal images. Kay Russell's paintings have grown from landscape representation toward the portrayal of "spirit and atmosphere." Helen Stanley's drawings chronicle memories of her 94 year old mother through her precious household objects, drawn from the Northwest corner of New Mexico, Stanley's birthplace. The exhibition continues through March 13th. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 1:00 to 5:00pm, and Saturdays, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Patricia Ancona
